Sam Munro

Sam Munro has an extensive work experience spanning over different companies and roles.

From 2021 to present, Sam Munro is serving as the Group Product Manager at Knak. In this role, they work closely with Product, Development, and Design Directors/Managers to set and achieve a strategy, vision, mid-term targets, and objectives. They also own the creation, evolution, and communication of their portfolio's prioritized roadmap and plans. Additionally, they lead and mentor Product Managers for their growth and development.

Prior to Knak, Sam Munro worked as a Product Manager at Hot Tomali Communications from 2019 to 2020. They collaborated with stakeholders to review and understand past LMS experiences, resulting in the creation of a roadmap for a new LMS product offering. They continued to work with the development team and clients throughout the implementation and onboarding process.

From 2016 to 2019, Sam Munro held roles at Cendyn and Guestfolio. At Cendyn, they were the Director of Product Management for Guestfolio CRM, responsible for managing the Guestfolio CRM Product. They began as a Product Owner at Guestfolio CRM, collaborating with stakeholders on requirements, planning new features, managing release scope, and supporting integrations.

Earlier in their career, from 2009 to 2016, Sam Munro worked at Habanero Consulting Group, primarily as a QA Lead, Consultant, and Performance Manager. They implemented QA processes, evolved QA practices, and ensured the quality of high-profile projects for large enterprise clients.

Before that, in 2009, Sam Munro was self-employed, building websites on the Drupal CMS for various small businesses. They handled sales, estimating costs, custom Drupal development, server setup, deployments, QA, client support, and other website-related tasks.

From 2007 to 2009, Sam Munro worked at QA Labs / UST Global as a QA Specialist focusing on localization and automation. Their responsibilities included test planning, execution, localization testing, leading teams, test automation, performance testing, training, and project management.

They also had a role at Nokia in 2008, certifying firmware release candidates for compatibility with various applications and conducting exploratory testing on early prototype devices.

Additionally, Sam Munro had earlier experiences as a Technical Artist at SFU Sage in 2007 and as a Lead Artist at Doorks Entertainment from 2006 to 2007, working on video game projects.

Sam Munro attended the Art Institute of Vancouver from 2005 to 2007. Then, in 2014 and 2015, they were enrolled at The Refinery Leadership Group. Additionally, Sam obtained a Bilingual Dual Dogwood Certificate, although the specific dates of this certification are unknown.
