Chris Weiss has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. Chris started their career as a Design Engineer at Thiokol Corporation in 1991, providing product support for the Space Shuttle Redesigned Solid Rocket Motor program. During their time there, they led cross-functional teams and presented findings to senior levels of the company and NASA.
In 1994, Chris joined Federal Signal Corporation as a Project Engineer for Elgin Sweeper. Chris later became the Manager of New Product Development, where they created a product development process and chaired the Strategic Product Planning Committee. Chris developed new products resulting in annual sales exceeding $40M. Chris also served as the Director of Technology Development, overseeing a technology development strategy and managing intellectual property across six Federal Signal locations.
Chris moved to Knapheide Manufacturing in 2005 as the Vice President of Engineering. In this role, they created a new product development process and helped expand the business into new industries such as defense, alternative fuels, industrial products, and van upfits.
Throughout their career, Chris has demonstrated strong leadership, strategic planning, and engineering expertise in various industries and roles.
Chris Weiss completed their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical/Space Engineering at Purdue University from 1987 to 1991. Following that, they pursued a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Utah, which they completed between 1991 and 1994. Lastly, Chris obtained their Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) specializing in Operations Management from DePaul University, studying from 1997 to 2000.
