Olten is a literary treasure trove with the world's highest density of poets: Peter Bichsel, Alex Capus, Urs Faes, Franz Hohler, Ulrich Knellwolf, Rolf Lappert, Pedro Lenz, Silja Walter or Otto F. Walter are or were closely associated with the town.
In 2005, Thomas Knapp told himself that a place like this is a perfect venue for publishing books. The former bookseller founded his own publishing house.
