Hen-You Tan

Hen-You Tan has a long and varied work experience beginning in 2002 when they were hired as a QA Architect at Sybase. After three years, they moved to Arena Solutions and held the role of Sr. QA Manager. They then held the same role at OnStation Inc (A Division of Cobalt) for one year. In 2007, they were hired at DeepDyve as Sr. QA Manager and Content Product Manager. The next year, they moved to Qualys as Lead Automation Engineer. In 2012, they were hired at Badgeville as QA Manager. After two years, they moved to Agilone as QA Director. In 2016, they returned to Knightscope as Quality Assurance Lead. In 2018, they moved to Rakuten as QA Lead. Finally, in 2020, they returned to Knightscope as Director of Software Engineering and Head of Quality Assurance. In this role, they oversee all activities within the development lifecycle for Knightscope cloud infrastructure in AWS and Web Applications, design and plan a new cloud infrastructure in AWS GovCloud to meet FedRAMP Compliance, spearhead the process to get Knightscope listed as In-Process for an authorized Cloud Service Offer (CSO) on the FedRAMP Marketplace, develop and execute strategy and product roadmap for each year, hire, build, mentor, and manage a high-performance software engineering team, and lead, plan, and manage Knightscope Security Operation Control (KSOC) web application infrastructure changes.

Hen-You Tan attended Penn State University from 1985 to 1990, graduating with a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Electrical Engineering. Hen-You then attended The George Washington University from 1991 to 1994, earning a Master of Science (M.S.) in Engineering/Industrial Management.
