Syd Young

Syd Young is the Director of Teaching and Learning at KnowledgeWorks, where they focus on building and scaling personalized, competency-based learning across the country. Previously, Syd served as an Education Specialist at the Utah State Board of Education, supporting local learning communities in implementing innovative educational practices. Their extensive background in education includes roles as an Assistant Principal and Integrated Science Teacher, where they championed collaborative cultures and effective learning environments. Syd holds a Women’s Leadership Certificate from the University of Utah and advanced degrees in Conservation Biology and Biological Science Education from Brigham Young University.
