Every person on earth has a name. Most of them will never make the news.

Known By Name Foundation makes documentary films about the ones the world has forgotten — and the ones who refused to let it.

We believe the most powerful force for human dignity is a human face on screen. Not statistics. Not policy briefs. A survivor. A dissident. An ordinary person who did something extraordinary when the world wasn't watching. Our films exist to say: this person is known. This life matters. God knew their name before anyone else did.

Our first feature, Out of Darkness, follows North Korean defectors Jake and Vivian Kim — a story of sacrifice, enduring faith, and the 26 million people still waiting for someone to bear witness on their behalf. It's one story. There are thousands more.

Known By Name is building a body of work at the intersection of documentary film, faith, and human rights advocacy — with distribution ambitions that reach Sundance, DOC NYC, faith-based media, and the audiences that shift culture and fund change.

We find the people God already knows by name. Then we introduce them to the rest of the world.
