Chris Wash has a diverse range of experience in the tech industry. They started their career in 2004 as an Intern/Directed Researcher at VCU School of Engineering Computing Services, where they conducted independent research on geolocation and developed software for analyzing webserver log files. In 2004, Chris also joined CapTech as a Director/Architect, specializing in distributed systems using enterprise Java and Open Source. They gained extensive experience in various industries such as finance, healthcare, and energy. Chris worked at CapTech until 2019, during which they held roles as a Vice President, DevOps at Koalafi. In this position, they built a multi-tenant AWS account structure, oversaw a transition to more frequent releases, and containerized production applications using Kubernetes/EKS. Overall, Chris has a strong background in software development, system architecture, and leadership.

Chris Wash attended Benedictine College Preparatory from 1997 to 2001. Chris then pursued a B.S. degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, and Physics from Virginia Commonwealth University, from 2001 to 2004. Additionally, they obtained certifications as a Certified Business Component Developer, Certified Java Programmer, and Certified Web Component Developer from Sun (Oracle).
