Michael IP is a Scientific Advisor at Kodiak. Michael was previously Senior IP Transactions Counsel at Medtronic from March 2010 to January 2022, responsible for complex transactions in Restorative Therapies Group including IP Licenses, Product Development, Royalty Agreements, NDAs, and Joint Ventures. Michael also managed aspects of contracting processes and execution metrics for agreements. Prior to that, they were Patent Attorney at Smith & Nephew from November 2006 to March 2010, and before that they were an Associate at Sirote & Permutt, P.C. from September 2005 to November 2006. Michael started their legal career as an Associate at McDermott Will & Emery from October 2003 to September 2005, and before that they were a Law Clerk at Benesch Friedlander Coplan & Aronoff from January 2002 to June 2003. Michael IP has also been a Technical Advisor at Jones Day from September 1999 to January 2002.
Michael IP has a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Alabama, a Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering from Case Western Reserve University, and a Juris Doctor from Cleveland State University - Cleveland-Marshall College of Law.
