Michael Levy

Michael Levy has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Michael most recently held the position of VP of Content at Kognity starting from May 2023. Prior to this, they worked as the Director of Content Strategy & Innovation at Barnes & Noble Education, Inc. from February 2022 to May 2023. Before that, Michael was the VP of Strategic Initiatives at Six Red Marbles from October 2020 to February 2022. Michael also worked as a Senior Writer at Elevate Labs from January 2020 to October 2020. Michael's earlier roles include Director of Content Development at Course Hero from October 2015 to January 2020, Director of Content at Elevate Labs, LLC from June 2013 to October 2015, and Content Strategist/Manager at Ascend Learning from May 2012 to May 2013. Notably, they worked at Encyclopaedia Britannica, Inc. for over a decade, serving in various roles such as Director of Product Content & Curriculum from October 2011 to January 2012, Executive Editor from January 2006 to October 2011, Senior Manager of Editorial Projects from January 2005 to January 2006, and Editor of Political Science from May 2000 to January 2005. Prior to their career in publishing, Michael worked as a Professor of Political Science at Southeast Missouri State University from August 1995 to May 2000 and as a Research Assistant at the University of Kentucky from 1994 to 1996.

Michael Levy began their education at Union High School from 1985 to 1987. Michael then attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill from 1987 to 1991, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Government. After completing their undergraduate studies, they enrolled at the University of Kentucky, where they earned their Master of Arts degree in Political Science from 1991 to 1994. Michael continued their education at the same institution and completed their Ph.D. in Political Science with a focus on International Relations/Comparative Politics from 1991 to 1996.
