John Ryu

John Ryu currently serves as CFO at Simplify, a fintech startup focused on democratizing hedge fund strategies through low-cost ETFs, and is the Founder and General Partner of Hypothesis, a venture fund specializing in pre-seed tech startups. Additionally, Ryu is a co-founder of Assurely, which provides innovative insurance solutions for rapidly-growing companies, and offers technology and strategic advisory services at Lo & Sons. Ryu is also a Venture Partner at KohFounders, aimed at supporting mission-driven entrepreneurs, and holds a Board Partner position at Scout Ventures, a seed-stage venture capital firm. Previously, Ryu has held advisory roles and product management positions at various organizations, including serving as a founding associate at The Center for Innovative Financial Technology at UC Berkeley. Ryu received education from Yale University and the University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business.
