Gregorio Tomassi

Gregorio Tomassi has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Gregorio currently serves as the Chief Financial Officer at Konfído, a position they have held since July 2021. Prior to this, they were the VP of Finance & Strategy at the same company from March 2020 to July 2021.

Before joining Konfído, Gregorio worked at Itau BBA, where they held the role of Equity Research - Sector Head LatAm TMT; LatAm and Mexico Equity Strategist. During their time at Itau BBA, they were responsible for covering seven listed names in the region and played a key role in developing and analyzing equity strategies. Gregorio joined Itau BBA in April 2012 and remained with the company until 2019.

From 2007 to 2012, Gregorio worked at Banco Santander as a Research Analyst for Telecom & Media Mexico. Gregorio headed the LatAm Technology, Media, and Telecommunications coverage and was instrumental in helping the Santander TMT team achieve top positions in the Institutional Investors magazine annual ranking.

Gregorio started their career at McKinsey & Company in 1989, where they worked as a Business Analyst until 1990. Gregorio rejoined McKinsey in 2000 as an Engagement Manager, focusing on sales force revamp, e-fulfillment strategy, and problem-solving for strategic planning.

In between their stints at McKinsey, Gregorio co-founded and served as Managing Director of Nexus Partner / The Venezuela Restaurant Fund from 1995 to 2000. Gregorio also worked as the Vice President of Private Equity at VestcorPartners from 1990 to 1994.

Gregorio's early experience includes roles such as Project Manager at C.A. Electricidad de Caracas in 2003 and Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer at U21 Casa de Bolsa, C.A. from 2002 to 2003. Gregorio also served as the Head of Business Development and Investor Relations at Cantv from 2004 to 2007, where they managed corporate acquisition processes.

Gregorio Tomassi obtained their Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from Universidad Simón Bolívar, where they studied from 1982 to 1987. Prior to that, they completed their high school education at Colegio Agustiniano Cristo Rey, where they earned their Bachiller degree in Ciencias from 1977 to 1982. Following their undergraduate studies, Gregorio pursued a Master's in Business Administration (MBA) with a specialization in Finance at IESA, attending from 1987 to 1989.

In addition to their formal education, Gregorio has also acquired several certifications. Their certifications include completing the CFA program offered by the CFA Institute in July 1995, a Mergers & Acquisitions Program from The Wharton School in November 1991, and various online courses. Some of their online certifications include Physics 102 - Electric Charges and Fields, Understanding Einstein: The Special Theory of Relativity, Private Equity and Venture Capital, The Global Financial Crisis, all earned through Coursera Course Certificates. Gregorio also completed a course titled "Curso en Fintech. Tecnologías de Información y Disrupción Financiera" offered by ITAM, Extensión Universitaria y Desarrollo Ejecutivo in August 2018.
