Bart Smykla

Bart Smykla has a diverse work experience spanning from 2012 to present. Bart is currently working as a Senior Software Engineer at Kong Inc. since November 2020. From 2018 to 2020, they worked at VMware as an Open Source Engineer, focusing on Kubernetes release tooling and infrastructure migration. In 2017, they worked as a Lead Software Engineer at Callsign, where they designed and implemented a high-performance system using Go, Redis, and ES6/7+. Prior to that, Bart worked as a Lead JavaScript Engineer at FollowUp.cc, leading a team in designing and implementing a new version of Followup as a Personal CRM. Bart also worked as a Senior JavaScript Developer at FollowUp.cc, where they improved and maintained the platform. In 2015, they co-founded Mailoud.com and worked as a Co-founder and Software Developer, utilizing technologies such as Node.js, Go, and MongoDB. Bart has also worked as a Freelance Front-end Developer, collaborating with various companies worldwide and honing their communication and time management skills. Bart was a co-founder of restful.pl from 2015 to 2016. Additionally, Bart worked as a Software Developer at XiAF and as the Co-founder and CEO at SACO Sp. z o.o. Lastly, they co-founded DIVALI in 2013, a handmade gift brand that is currently suspended due to sales and market issues.

Bart Smykla earned a Bachelor's degree in Journalism and Social Communication, with a focus on Corporate Identity and Public Relations, from Uniwersytet SWPS between 2008 and 2011. Bart then went on to pursue a Master's degree in Journalism and Social Communication as well as Public Relations from the University of Wroclaw from 2011 to 2013. In addition to their academic achievements, Bart obtained certification as an AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner from Amazon Web Services in March 2018.
