John Muth has over 30 years of work experience in the software engineering field. John began their career in 1990 as an Engineering Consultant for Pyramid Computer, Seimanns-Nixdorf, and Sequent Computer. In 1998, they joined VERITAS Software as a Principal Engineer and Engineering Manager, where they were the Chief Architect and Engineering Manager for VERITAS Cluster File System, taking the product from conception to development and into the market. In 2005, they became an Engineering Manager at Mendocino Software. In 2008, they were an Architect at Parascale, where they were responsible for architecture, design and implementation of the I/O path and storage components. In 2010, they joined Hitachi Data Systems (HDS) as a Senior Technologist, where they re-architected the core clustering and object location infrastructure. In 2012, they became the Technical Director of FlashRay at NetApp, where they defined the clustering architecture for MarsOS (FlashRay). Finally, in 2019, they joined Kontain as a Software Engineer.
John Muth attended the University of California, Santa Cruz from 1977 to 1979, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts in Information Sciences.
