Welcome to Pirate Cat Radio (KPCR)
Three channels. One community.

KPCR is a listener-powered community radio network serving Los Gatos, Santa Cruz, and Portland through three FM signals and online streaming. We exist to support independent media, local voices, and music that does not fit commercial radio formats.

Our Mission

KPCR provides an open platform for community expression, youth media education, and independent music. We focus on access, participation, and representation. No ads. No corporate control. Accountability to our listeners only.

Programming

Our programming spans music, culture, and local conversation. Shows are produced by community members and volunteers, not algorithms. You will hear punk, ska, indie, experimental music, and thoughtful talk that reflects the communities we serve.

Our Network
	•	KPCR 92.9 FM Los Gatos
	•	KMRT 101.9 FM Santa Cruz
	•	KVBE 91.1 FM Portland

All three channels stream online and operate together as one community radio network.

Our History

Pirate Cat Radio began in Santa Cruz in 2020 and has grown into a multi-channel network across California and Oregon. Along the way, we have expanded youth programs, built college scholarship support, and created space for voices that are often left out of mainstream media.

KPCR is community radio as it should be.
Built by listeners.
Sustained by participation.
