Blake Patsy

Managing Principal at KPFF Consulting Engineers

Blake’s primary goal is for the good of the project. He relies on the expertise of his team, as well as his own structural expertise honed over more than 27 years as a structural engineer at KPFF, to find cost-effective, workable designs that are functional and safe. From his early experience managing small-scale projects on his own to recent oversight of neighborhood-scale developments, Blake understands the full picture of how projects must work for their owners and the contractors who must build them on time and within budget. With his broad knowledge, Blake works across project disciplines to consider proposed solutions and move forward with the most effective, least expensive option. With his team approach, Blake delivers the highest value to clients and the project itself. As managing partner of KPFF Portland, Blake maintains a high-level view of staff and skills in the Portland office and across the country, connecting the right expertise to match project needs. From his leadership position, Blake is keen to leverage new technologies and evolve the firm’s professional services, which now include virtual reality, co-located building information models, sheet pile basement walls, viscous dampers, mass timber, and nonlinear response history analysis.
