Bob Timmer

Network engineer IP and GPRS/UMTS

Bob Timmer has extensive experience in the telecommunications industry, beginning with military service in the Royal Dutch Army from October 1993 to June 1994. Following this, Bob worked at Lucent Technologies from October 1994 to April 1996, focusing on engineering 5ESS digital telephone switches. Bob then served as a NOC Engineer at Libertel/Vodafone from April 1996 to October 1998, monitoring the GSM network. Between October 1998 and July 2002, Bob held the position of VAS Engineer at Telfort, gaining expertise in GPRS with Ericsson SGSN technologies. From July 2002 to May 2009, Bob worked as a Support Service Engineer at Ericsson, with a focus on various networking technologies, including Cisco CCNA and Checkpoint firewalls. Since June 2009, Bob has been employed at KPN as a Network Engineer, providing second-line support for the IP infrastructure and GPRS/UMTS network. Bob holds a Technical Engineer degree in Electronics from Regionaal Technisch College Rijnmond, earned between 1989 and 1993.
