Erik Olson has a diverse work experience in the field of journalism. Erik began their career at The Chronicle as a reporter, covering various subjects including politics, county government, tribal affairs, and the environment. After that, they worked at The Daily News as a reporter, where they focused on covering business and industry in a mill town on the Columbia River waterfront. During their time at The Daily News, they received multiple regional journalism awards for their work in business and feature writing. Erik then joined The Billings Gazette as a business reporter, where they worked for three years before joining KTVQ as a Digital Content Producer. In their role at KTVQ, Erik is responsible for managing and producing content for KTVQ.com, including editing and uploading stories, curating and developing content for social media, and pushing breaking news.
Erik Olson earned their Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism from the University of Montana between 1996 and 2001.
