Michael Chavez

Michael Chavez currently serves as an Equity Advisor at The University of Kansas, where responsibilities include advising Enrollment Management Leadership on Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging initiatives. In this role, Michael liaises with the Office of DEIB to align strategies with institutional equity goals and guides equitable recruitment and hiring practices. Previously, Michael held positions including Associate Director of Admissions for Community Engagement Initiatives, Assistant Director of the Undergraduate Advising Center, and On-Campus Recruitment Coordinator for the School of Engineering. Michael's career began with a year of national service as an AmeriCorps VISTA at the University of Kansas. Academic credentials include a Doctor of Education in Higher Education Administration, a Master's in Higher Educational Administration, and a Bachelor's degree in Communication from The University of Kansas.
