Babs Ogundeyi

Co-Founder & CEO at Kuda

Babs Ogundeyi is the Co-Founder and CEO of Kuda, Nigeria's first online only lending and savings platform. Babs has over 18 years of experience in the financial services industry, including 10 years in management consulting with PwC, where they led audit and advisory engagements of banks and other financial service organizations across Africa.

In 2011, Babs left PwC to take on the role of Special Adviser to the Governor on Finance in their home state of Oyo, Nigeria. In this role, they were responsible for capital raising, setting up the state's Public Private Partnership (PPP) office and Debt Management Office (DMO), and creating products to boost Internally Generated Revenue (IGR). Under their leadership, IGR increased five-fold in four years. Babs also successfully led the largest Bond raise in the State's history - a 55 billion Naira bond program - and turned the state's Microfinance Bank from a $2m loss position into a profit-making entity within four years.

In 2017, Babs co-founded Kudimoney, Nigeria's first online only lending and savings platform. Kudimoney quickly became one of the fastest growing fintech startups in Nigeria, with over 100,000 customers and $10 million in deposits within its first year.

Babs has a degree in Economics from the University of Lagos and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

Babs Ogundeyi received a BA (Honours) in Business Studies & Accounting from Brunel University London. Babs then went on to study at King's College in Taunton. Babs is currently a teacher at The Downs School.
