Gavin Heale

Gavin Heale is the current CEO at Kugadi, a position they have held since May 2015. Prior to this, they served as the CTO at Dark Indigo, Inc. from March 2011 to May 2015. Dark Indigo is a boutique consulting firm focused on providing outsourced development of high tech solutions.

Heale's previous positions include Director of Services, EMEA at DataSynapse from January 2008 to February 2009, and Head of Technical Architecture at BSG from January 2007 to November 2007.

Heale has extensive experience in the technology field, with a focus on Jira for agile development, Git for source control, Ruby on Rails for rapid web development, Java for heavy lifting back ends, and C for real speed. Gavin also has experience in Ubuntu Linux for servers, AWS for cloud deployment, and Macs for developers.

Some of the interesting work Heale has done was in partnership with Cisco and Raytheon where they built actor based systems to look at the power of using AI to detect anomalies in the network, server and application levels. Gavin also developed the initial base system that evolved into Kugadi.

Gavin Heale has a B.Bus.Sc in Computer Science from the University of Cape Town and certification from Kauffman Fellows and Techstars in Venture Deals. Gavin also has certification from Y Combinator in Startup School Online, NovoEd in Technology Entrepreneurship, and Coursera in Machine Learning.
