Kumoricon

Kumoricon, run by Altonimbus Entertainment, produces and hosts an annual 3-day anime (Japanese animation) convention in Portland, OR every November. The convention is an entertainment and social event for anime fans, about half of whom dress up in cosplay, each day running from morning until late hours past midnight. The event features video showings, educational panels, exhibitors, artists, industry guests of honor, video gaming, dances, and many smaller activities. Kumoricon started in 2003 with 400 attendees, and in 2019 had grown to over 10,000 unique badge holders. Kumoricon has no employees, and is entirely run by volunteer staff who become voting members in the organization once they are approved for a title-holding position. Staff members work at the convention as well as doing extensive pre-convention planning throughout the entire year. Because LinkedIn currently does not have any way of designating a position other than "employee", we have used the number of our volunteer staff as our number of employees.
