Qi Wang is an accomplished scientist with extensive experience in plant genetics and breeding. Currently employed at KWS Group since April 2022, Qi previously served as a Research Scientist at the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center, leading initiatives to enhance plant immunity in sorghum and innovating genomic approaches that resulted in published findings in PLOS Pathogens. Prior to that, role as a Postdoctoral Associate at the University of Kentucky involved genetic and bioinformatic strategies to improve nitrogen fixation in legumes, contributing to two publications in PNAS. Beginning the career as a Research Associate and later a Research Assistant at Nanjing Agricultural University, Qi developed methods to screen for virus resistance in rice and co-invented an insect growth chamber. Education includes a PhD in Plant Genetics and Breeding from Nanjing Agricultural University and a Bachelor's degree in Agronomy and Crop Science from Shenyang Agricultural University.
