David Melvin

VP of Informatics at Kymab

David Melvin has extensive work experience in the field of informatics and software development. David is currently employed as the VP of Informatics at Kymab Ltd since September 2021. Prior to this, they served as the Sr. Director of Informatics at Kymab Ltd from July 2015.

Before joining Kymab Ltd, David worked at the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute as a Senior Scientific Manager from November 2001 to June 2016. During their time there, they led the Software Group.

David also has experience as the Managing Director at Choracle from 2001 to 2008 and as the Head of Software Development at Amedis from 2001 to 2002. David worked as the CTO at Waxinfo Ltd from 2000 to 2001.

Additionally, they served as a Research Associate at the Clinical and Biomedical Computing Unit (CBCU), Clinical School, University of Cambridge from 1999 to 2001. Prior to that, they worked as a Research Assistant at the University of Cambridge from September 1996 to September 1999.

David Melvin completed their education in a chronological order. From 1985 to 1989, they attended the University of Aberdeen and obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science. Subsequently, from 1991 to 1995, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) at the same institution, specializing in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Artificial Intelligence. In May 2019, they also obtained a certification in Learning Terraform from LinkedIn.
