Michael Chiu has an extensive work experience spanning various industries and positions. Michael started their career at Teradyne, where they held multiple roles in engineering, product development, and marketing. During their time there, they led the development of new products and received recognition for their contributions. After leaving Teradyne, Chiu founded Trophos Energy Inc., a venture-backed company focused on developing biological fuel cell and energy harvesting technology. Michael successfully sold the company in 2010 and moved on to become the CEO and Founder of GeckoCap, a healthcare technology startup, and Director at LGL Group | MtronPTI. Chiu then joined Automation Engineering Incorporated (AEi) and held multiple executive positions before the company was acquired by Mycronic. Michael continued their career as the CEO and VP of Operations at Erbi Biosystems, which was later acquired by MilliporeSigma. Currently, Chiu is the Chief Executive Officer at Kytopen. Through their diverse roles and experiences, Chiu has demonstrated their expertise in operations, sales, marketing, fundraising, and overall business management.
Michael Chiu has an extensive education history. Michael earned a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering and Business from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) from 1994 to 1997. Michael then pursued an MBA at the MIT Sloan School of Management in 2007 to 2008, specializing in New Ventures. Additionally, they obtained a Master of Science (M.S.) in Mechanical Engineering from MIT in the same period. Michael Chiu started their academic journey by completing their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Mechanical Engineering with Summa Cum Laude distinction at the University of Minnesota, where they studied from 1986 to 1991.
