Founded in 1976 by Sergio Rossi, the estate lies on the north-eastern slope of the Montalcino hill at about 320 meters above sea level, an ideal location for growing Sangiovese and producing wines of elegance, structure and longevity.

The property, historically known as Colombaio, was once part of the holdings of the Biondi-Santi family, whose legacy is deeply connected to the origins of Brunello di Montalcino.

Today La Gerla is recognized as a boutique Brunello di Montalcino wine estate, where tradition, careful vineyard work and respect for nature shape every bottle.
