Barbara Matlen

Barbara Matlen is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in accommodations and event management for major sporting events. Currently serving as the Head of Accommodations for the LA28 Olympic & Paralympic Games, Barbara leads the comprehensive accommodations strategy, including hotel contracting and guest services. Previously, Barbara held the position of Regional Lead Accommodations for the FIFA World Cup 2026™, ensuring high standards for lodging experiences. With a background as an Accommodation Contractor for FIFA and as Executive Vice President at Cartan Global, Barbara has developed event management programs and built relationships with National Olympic Committees. Barbara also held roles such as Director of Operations and Senior Manager at Cartan Global, focusing on operational efficiency and training programs, and served as Vice President at Integrated Sports Solutions, managing contract negotiations. Barbara holds a Bachelor of Science in International Business from California State University, Long Beach.
