Renata Simril

Renata Simril is the Chief Executive Officer of the LA84 Foundation and the Play Equity Fund, and serves as a board member of Steel Connect, Inc. Renata Simril is a Governor Appointee to the California Governor's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports, where they chair a Sub-committee focused on health and wellness, equity, policy changes, and funding strategies. Renata Simril is the President of the Board of Recreation and Park Commissioners for the City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks. In the past, Renata Simril held senior leadership roles including Senior Vice President at Forest City Enterprises, Inc. (2005-2010), Deputy Mayor Economic Development & Housing for the City of Los Angeles (2002-2005), Development Director at LCOR (2000-2002), Senior Vice President at the Los Angeles Dodgers (2012-2014), and Chief of Staff/Senior Vice President at the Los Angeles Times (2014-2015). Renata Simril holds a Master's degree in Real Estate Development from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor's degree in Urban Studies/Affairs from Loyola Marymount University.
