Jonny Grass has a diverse work experience in the field of user experience design and library services management.
Jonny started their career as a Manager Library Services at American Career College from July 2015 to February 2017.
In 2017, Jonny transitioned into the field of user experience design and worked as a UX Researcher and Designer at 969 NYC Coffee from June 2017 to September 2017. During their time there, they conducted all UX research and design activities for a new website. Jonny led the strategy and implementation of a Lean UX process, including requirements gathering, ethnography, user reviews, user stories, and competitor analyses. Jonny also sketched concepts, created wireframes, and designed the visual aspects of the website.
In February 2017, Jonny joined CareerFoundry as a UX Design Tutor and continued in this role until the present.
In March 2019, Jonny joined JDC Entwine as a Learning Experience Designer, where they worked until June 2020.
Most recently, Jonny joined Lab49 in October 2020 as a User Experience Designer.
Jonny Grass earned a Bachelor's degree in Anthropology from Reed College from 2001 to 2005. After that, they pursued a Master of Science (MS) in Information Studies at The University of Texas at Austin from 2008 to 2010. In addition to their formal education, they obtained certifications in "Designing for Change" from IDEO U in September 2022 and in UX Research Specialty within a UX Certificate program from Nielsen Norman Group in April 2021.
