Emily Smith

Emily Smith is an Associate Clinical Director at Labcorp and a Variant Curator at NxGen MDx. They hold a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the Mayo Clinic Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences and are board certified in Clinical Molecular Genetics and Clinical Biochemical Genetics by the American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics. Previously, they served as the Director of Clinical Biochemical Genetics and Co-director of Clinical Molecular Genetics at Eurofins EGL Genetics, as well as a Clinical Biochemical Genetics fellow and Clinical Molecular Genetics fellow at Mayo Clinic. Emily has also worked as a Newborn Screening Consultant for the Illinois Department of Public Health. As a fellow of the American College of Medical Genetics, they focus on genetic disorders, molecular diagnostics, and biochemical genetics.
