Greg Sommer

Greg Sommer is a PhD-level engineer, entrepreneur, and executive specializing in medical devices. They co-founded Sandstone Diagnostics, Inc., where they served as Chief Scientific Officer and Executive VP from 2012 to 2022. Prior to that, Greg was a Senior Staff Scientist at Sandia National Laboratories, leading R&D initiatives for point-of-care diagnostic devices. Currently, they are the Senior Director of R&D and Scientific Discipline Director for Alternative Sample Collection at Labcorp. Greg holds a Ph.D. and two master's degrees in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan, as well as a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Iowa State University.
