Michelle Abelson

Michelle Abelson is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in laboratory operations and project administration. Currently serving as the Director and Discipline Director of Allergy at Labcorp since December 2013, Michelle oversees 108 scientists across three departments and ensures regulatory compliance as the Radiation Safety Officer. Prior roles include Project Administrator, Compliance Officer, and Knowledge and Learning Specialist at Viromed Laboratories, where responsibilities encompassed project management, staff development, and ensuring HIPAA compliance. Earlier experience includes significant leadership positions at the University of Minnesota, including Director of Molecular Biology. Michelle holds a Ph.D. in Medical Microbiology and Bacteriology from East Tennessee State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Biomedical Sciences from St. Cloud State University.
