William Dowie

William Dowie has had a long and varied career in the tech industry. William started their career in 2001 as a Researcher, Designer and Developer at Orange, where they were named inventor on a patent application. In 2004, they co-founded MPROGRESS. William then moved to HTC in 2006, where they held the role of Sr. Director, Global Marketing and Product, Head of Product Marketing and App/Solution Planning. In 2013, they became the CEO and Co-Founder of NU. In 2014, they took on the role of Product Director, Global Products at Tcl Communication Technology Holdings Ltd. In 2018, they were the Sr. Director, Product at HMD Global, where they led smartphone product management, business and development teams with ODMs in China and Taiwan, and launched the Nokia 9 PureView and Nokia 8.1/7.2/6. In 2019, they were the Head of Partnerships & Operator Product Director at OnePlus. In 2021, they held the roles of Chief Revenue Officer and VP Partnerships & Devices at both Labfront and PhysioQ. Currently, William is a Global Account Manager at Amazon.

William Dowie attended Sir Christopher Hatton School from 1991 to 1997. William then went on to The University of Sheffield, where they obtained a MEng Software Engineering (Hons.) in Computer Science from 1997 to 2001.
