LactaLearning sprang from the passion and drive of its founders, Barbara Robertson and Nancy Mohrbacher. With a combined 60+ years in the lactation field, Barbara and Nancy joined forces remotely in 2020 at the peak of COVID isolation. While creating interactive online lactation education, a eureka moment occurred when they realized their backgrounds and strengths were complementary. In addition to being an IBCLC and lactation educator, Barbara has a master's degree in curriculum development. Nancy, also an IBCLC, has extensive knowledge of lactation research and international experience in a wide variety of lactation settings. Together, they formed an unbeatable team from which LactaLearning was born.

Balancing Head and Heart

LactaLearning’s head-and-heart approach emphasizes the importance of communication. A practitioner can be highly knowledgeable, but communicating compassionately and clearly is also a key to effective lactation support. Throughout our trainings, we emphasize when and why to communicate and how to make those communications impactful.
