Victor Chen

Victor Chen has over a decade of experience in power system operations and management, currently serving as a Shift Supervisor and Senior Load Dispatcher for the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power since July 2013, overseeing power grid operations for the city. Prior to this role, Victor was an Outage Coordinator responsible for planning outages for large-scale generation and transmission assets and worked as a Load Dispatcher managing LA's Bulk Power Grid. Victor's earlier experience includes a brief contract role as an Interim Power System Operator with Entergy in 2013 and six years as a Navy Submarine Electrician from 2006 to 2012, specializing in the operation and maintenance of electrical systems on submarines. Victor is also a graduate of Naval Nuclear Power School, completing studies between 2006 and 2008.
