John Light

John Light has extensive experience in human resources and administrative roles, currently serving as the Director of Human Resources for Lake County since February 2020. Previously, John held the same position at the City of Des Plaines from February 2016 to February 2020. Prior to that, John was the County Administrator for Stephenson County, Illinois, from May 2013 to February 2016, and served as Director of Human Resources at Kent County for a brief period in 2012. John also held the role of Director of Human Resources at Community Unit School District 300 from May 2005 to June 2012 and at McHenry County from 2001 to 2005. Early in John's career, from December 1996 to March 2001, John was the Assistant to the Town Administrator and Director of Human Resources & Risk Management in the Town of Parker, Colorado.
