Simon King is a seasoned investor and board advisor with extensive experience in deeptech and biotech sectors. Currently serving as a Partner at Lakestar since September 2025, Simon is dedicated to collaborating with visionary founders to advance groundbreaking companies at the intersection of science and technology. Prior to this role, Simon was a Partner at Octopus Ventures from January 2012 to July 2025, where the focus was on investing in transformative ventures across health, finance, deep tech, and consumer sectors. Additionally, Simon has held several non-executive director positions at innovative companies such as TRAFI, SmartKem Limited, WaveOptics, and Surrey NanoSystems Ltd, contributing to advancements in mobility-as-a-service, organic semiconductors, and augmented reality technologies. Simon holds a PhD in Solar Energy/Plastic Electronics from Imperial College London and an MSc in Physics from the University of Cambridge.
