Griff O'Neill has extensive experience in engineering and software testing, demonstrating a strong foundation in physics through a Ph.D. obtained from the University of Washington. At Lam Research, O'Neill worked as Managing Director of Engineering from August 2007 to June 2025, focusing on enhancing plasma etch equipment for semiconductor manufacturing. Prior to that, O'Neill served as a Software Test Engineer at Microsoft, contributing to authentication servers for MSN Internet Access. Earlier roles include operating particle accelerators at the University of Washington Nuclear Physics Laboratory and developing plasma diagnostics as a Research Assistant at the same institution. Currently, O'Neill is a consultant while also dedicating time as a full-time dad.
