Simon Taylor

Simon Taylor PhD has a diverse work experience that spans over two decades. Simon has held various leadership and consultant roles in different organizations.

Starting in 2000, Simon served as a Royal Irish Regiment Officer in the British Army, where they planned and executed military operations in support of the police in Northern Ireland. Simon led a team of 26 soldiers and was responsible for their deployment, training, management, and welfare.

From 2003 to 2005, Simon worked as the Northern Ireland News Team Leader for the UK Ministry of Defence. In this role, they were in charge of delivering the army's public relations campaign in Northern Ireland. Simon also designed and implemented a media training program and successfully directed numerous media facilities and PR assignments.

In 2010, Simon joined The Royal Military Academy Sandhurst as a Senior Lecturer. Simon designed and delivered leadership development programs for British Army officers and Officer Cadets. Simon combined military scenarios with academic theory to create a challenging and relevant learning environment. Simon also led a study on leadership and decision making within UN forces in Bosnia, specifically focusing on the Srebrenica incident.

From 2016 to 2022, Simon worked as a Senior Learning Consultant at Kaplan Performance Academy. Simon specialized in designing and delivering experiential leadership programs that focused on resilience, motivation, personal impact, team building, negotiation, and decision making. Simon's primary interest in this role was analyzing why individuals and groups make erroneous and unethical decisions under extreme pressure.

Most recently, in 2022, Simon joined Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. as the Vice President of Programs. In this position, they lead the design and management of experiential learning programs for the fraternity. Simon's role involves inspiring and equipping members with the necessary skills to lead teams, manage philanthropic projects, and make a positive difference in their communities.

Simon Taylor PhD began their education in 1996 at Queen's University Belfast, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Geography. Simon then went on to Ulster University from 2001 to 2002, where they obtained a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Political Communication and Public Affairs. In 2007, they enrolled at King's College London and completed their Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in War in the Modern World in 2010. Afterward, they pursued further studies at King's College London and earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in War Studies from 2015 to 2019.
