Co-Founder, Head of Eng. & Product Dev't @ Lambda Function | Enabling autonomous precision machining at Lambda Function

Rene Barakett's work experience begins with their role as Co-Founder and Head of Engineering & Product Development at Lambda Function, a company focused on achieving Level 5 machining autonomy. Previously, they worked as the Senior Director of Aircraft Completion & Delivery Center at Bell Flight. Rene also served as a Board of Directors Member of the Consortium for Research and Innovation in Aerospace in Quebec (CRIAQ), where they played a crucial role in stimulating business innovation through collaborative R&D. Prior to that, they were the Director of Development Engineering at Howmet Aerospace. René has also held various directorial positions at Bombardier Aerospace, including Director of Engineering & Product Development for the CSeries and Director of Quality Assurance, Supplier Development, Plant Engineering, and Business Systems. Earlier in their career, René worked at Bombardier Experimental Engineering in different roles, such as Section Leader and Engineer. In addition, they briefly served as Director and Co-Leader of the Bombardier Cultural Transformation Initiative at Toyota and Porsche.

Rene Barakett has a diverse education history. In 1980, Barakett attended École Nationale d’Aérotechnique in St-Hubert, Què., Canada, where they obtained an Associate of Science Degree (Diplome d'Étude Collegiale Professionnel) in Aircraft Engineering Technology. Continuing their education, Barakett enrolled at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, FL, USA, from 1986 to 1990, earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical, and Astronautical Engineering.

In 1998, Barakett attended the Six Sigma Academy in Scottsdale, AZ, where they acquired the title of Master Black Belt in Six Sigma & Lean Practices. Then, in 1999, Barakett participated in a Fixed & Rotary Wing Upgrades & Retrofits Seminar in London, England.

Barakett's education journey continued in 2017 when they undertook the Porsche Best Practices Training Program, called "Porsche 'Pole Position'." This training program focused on Product Development, Manufacturing, and Lean principles.

Throughout their educational endeavors, Barakett has developed a wide range of expertise in various fields, including aerospace engineering, aircraft engineering technology, Six Sigma & Lean practices, and product development/manufacturing/lean principles.
