Michelle Riley

Michelle Riley serves as the General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer for Bregal Investments and Bregal Sagemount, overseeing legal and compliance matters for international private equity groups. Additionally, Riley is a Member of the Board of Directors for American Seafoods and the Chair of the Board for Lambda Legal. Previously, Riley held positions at CION Investments as Vice President and Co-General Counsel, and at prominent law firms such as Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison, and Debevoise & Plimpton, focusing on mergers and acquisitions and private equity. Riley began a legal career in the 2003 presidential campaign of John Edwards as Deputy Counsel. Educational qualifications include a JD from Yale Law School, a Master's degree in Politics, Philosophy & Economics from the University of Oxford, and a BA in Political Communication from The George Washington University.
