Richard Youngworth, Ph.D., is the founder and chief engineer of Riyo LLC, an optical engineering company based in Boise, Idaho. With extensive experience in optical design, manufacturing, and analysis, they are recognized as an international expert on producibility and tolerance analysis of optical systems. Dr. Youngworth has authored numerous papers and teaches SPIE short courses on optical system design and tolerancing. They have held positions at Boise State University and the University of Arizona, where they served as an adjunct associate professor. Before Riyo LLC, Dr. Youngworth worked as a senior optical engineer at Ball Aerospace & Technologies Corp and made significant contributions at Eastman Kodak.
