Alex Baker

Alex Baker has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and companies. Alex worked as Chief Data Scientist at Armored Things from July 2018, where they focused on developing innovative approaches to combining data from multiple sources. Alex led the development of a video analytics platform and utilized their software design and data analysis skills to support sales, user experience, and engineering teams. Before that, they served as Director of Data Science at Carbon Black, Inc. from August 2015 to June 2018, leading research and development in malware detection systems. Prior to that, they co-founded VisiTrend in 2011 and served as CTO until 2015. Alex also gained research experience as a Graduate Student Researcher at the University of California, Irvine, from 2004 to 2010 and worked as a Teaching Assistant from 2003 to 2004. Additionally, they worked as a Web Designer and Webmaster at the University of California, Irvine from 2001 to 2002.

Alex Baker earned a Ph.D. in Information and Computer Science from UC Irvine, with a study period spanning from 2005 to 2010. Prior to that, from 1998 to 2002, Alex completed a B.S. degree in Information and Computer Science also at UC Irvine.
