Lambton Estate is one of County Durham’s ‘hidden gems’ containing both nationally and regionally important heritage assets. It has historically been associated with coal mining and hosted a lion park in the latter part of the 20th Century but until recently it has been an exclusive Estate with very limited public access.

The Trustees of Lord Durham’s 1989 Voluntary Settlement obtained outline planning permission in 2016 for an exciting new development and since then, six phases of development have commenced on the Estate. These have been designed by Estate in close collaboration with their delivery partner, their trusted design team and the builders delivering the developments on the ground.

The design team and housebuilders currently delivering on site include:

Miller Homes - Rectory Green and Bowes Gate Drive
Bellway Homes - Hedworths Green Robertson Homes - Lionfields
Brims- Bowes Gate Commercial
Adderstone Living - St Barnabus Way
MGL - Chesters self build civils
Theakston Land - Delivery Partner
GSC Grays - Managing Agents of the Lambton Estate
POD - Architects
Queensberry Design - Engineers
Lichfields - Planning Consultants
