Alex Wolf

Alex Wolf has a diverse and extensive work experience. Alex is currently the Co-founder and CEO of Lamin Labs, a position they have held since April 2022. Alex is also a Scientific Advisor at Doloromics and Retro Biosciences, starting in May and April 2022 respectively.

Prior to their current roles, Alex worked as a Scientific Advisor at scverse, starting in September 2019. Alex was also the Creator and Project Lead of the Scanpy and anndata open-source software project. Alex worked in this role from September 2016 until August 2019.

Alex has also held positions at Helmholtz Zentrum München, where they worked as an Adjunct Researcher in Machine Learning from October 2018 until December 2022. In addition, they have experience at Cellarity, where they held various roles including Senior Director and Head of Scientific Computing, Director and Associate Director of Applied Machine Learning, and Consultant in Machine Learning. Alex'stenure at Cellarity spanned from May 2018 to January 2022.

Before that, Alex worked as a Team Lead and Postdoctoral Researcher in Fabian Theis's lab at HelmholtzZentrum München. Alex also worked as a PhD Candidate at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München and as a Visiting Scholar at Columbia University in the City of New York. Alex began their career as a PhD Candidate at Bosch Research.

Alex Wolf has an extensive education history that includes a range of academic pursuits. In 2006, they began their undergraduate studies at the University of Augsburg, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics in 2009. Following this, Alex pursued a Master of Science degree in Physics at the same institution and successfully completed it in 2011. Seeking further academic advancement, they then attended FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg from 2012 to 2013, where they embarked on a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) program in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Subsequently, from 2013 to 2015, they attended Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, specializing in Computational Physics to earn their second PhD degree.
