The Lamp of Learning is a fundraising organization for San Diego based high school students attending 4-year universities.  Since its inception in 2004, we have raised more than $280,000 toward need based, merit scholarships. The annual scholarship is open to qualified high school students throughout San Diego County that participate in the internationally acclaimed AVID Learning Program. AVID (Achievement via Individual Determination) students are often the first in their family to attend college and often underrepresented in higher education.

Over the past 19 years we have given significant support to over 60 scholars including national scholarship winners and even a Gates Millennium Scholar.  Read about our 2017 candidates.
