Matt Wright serves as the Head of Partnerships & Engagement for Regional Innovation at Lancaster University since August 2022, focusing on stakeholder engagement, innovation policy, and shaping new programs in key areas such as Cyber, Defence, Security, and Nuclear. Prior to this role, Matt was the Innovation Manager & LEP Innovation Lead from December 2018 to August 2022, collaborating with Lancashire universities and economic development stakeholders to enhance regional innovation strategies. Previous experiences include roles as an Innovation Management Specialist at RTC North/Innovate UK, Cabinet Member for Economic Development at Flintshire County Council, Senior Consultant at Qinetiq/NWRDA, Operations Director at Enterprise Plc, and Senior Product Designer at TI New World. Matt holds a BA (Hons) in Industrial Design (Engineering) from Teesside University, earned between 1981 and 1984.
