Inspired by Octavia Butler’s Earthseed community,
Land Based Jawns, LLC (LBJ) is a spiritually-rooted business and organization that supports people who want to grow deeper in their relationships to land, food, and ancestral spirituality. LBJ is located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and provides services in the form of education and training workshops focused on agriculture, land based living, safety, carpentry, and self and community healing. In addition to learning to survive in this ever-changing world, our team believes it is necessary and critical for our communities to heal from the trauma of white supremacy and capitalism, and begin to rebuild our relationships with the Earth. We make apparent the connections between food justice and health to help our communities become collectively self-sufficient, self-reliant, and self-determined. We believe in the power of land and food to literally heal our bodies. And we want our communities to thrive.
