John McDonald is an accomplished R&D professional with extensive experience in the food industry, currently serving as R&D Director for the Ingredient and Foundational Technology Platform at Land O'Lakes, Inc. since June 2011. McDonald leads scientific and technology development teams focused on food microbiology, food chemistry, and ingredient research information technology within the Dairy Foods Business Unit. Previously, McDonald held various leadership roles at Land O'Lakes, including overseeing customer solutions and strategic technology platforms. McDonald also worked at Cargill from June 1998 to March 2011 as a Research Fellow and Principal Scientist, where significant contributions to food ingredient product development were made, resulting in multiple patents. McDonald holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Memphis and a B.S. in Chemistry and Biology from Berry College.
