Alex Lunev

Alex Lunev currently serves as the Vice President of Engineering at LangChain since October 2025. Previously, Alex held various engineering leadership roles at Cockroach Labs from May 2020 to July 2025, including Vice President of Engineering and Senior Director of Engineering. At Varo Money Inc. from July 2018 to March 2020, Alex led the Backend Engineering Team, overseeing the architecture and strategy for the digital bank's development. Prior experience includes managing engineering teams for Square, focusing on payment platform and settlement from September 2015 to July 2018, and tenure at BlackRock from October 2005 to September 2015, culminating in a Director role. Alex earned a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from New York University between January 2000 and January 2004.
