Jane Ferris

Jane Ferris has extensive work experience in the education sector. Jane currently serves as the President of LanguageBird since February 2023. Prior to this, they worked at Laurel Springs School, where they held various leadership roles including Assistant Head of School, Dean of Students, Dean of Academy and Counseling, and Dean of School Counseling from 2015 to 2023. Before joining Laurel Springs School, Jane worked at Pennsylvania Leadership Charter School as the University Scholars Program Director, where they managed the day-to-day operations of a blended onsite and cyber gifted program. Jane also held the role of Assistant Director/Teacher at the same school. Jane's career in education began at Avon Grove Charter School as a Teacher from 2003 to 2005. Jane gained initial teaching experience during their Student Teaching Internship at Cedarbrook Middle School in the School District of Cheltenham Township in 2002.

Jane Ferris obtained a Doctor of Education - EdD degree in Planning, Policy, and Administration from West Chester University of Pennsylvania between the years 2017 and 2020. Prior to that, Jane pursued a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Penn State University. Jane also holds a Graduate Certificate in Collaborative Mentorship and Coaching from the same institution. Jane's educational journey began with a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Education from Penn State University, which they completed before the year 2002.
